The inaugural Chicago Open Air metal and heavy rock music festival brought more than 75,000 concert goers to Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Ill. on July 15, 16 and 17. The summer festival featured Germany’s Rammstein as the headliner on Friday night, followed by fellow European metal masters Meshuggah, Gojira and Carcass throughout the weekend. In addition, Chicago Open Air also featured hometown performances by Ministry and Disturbed and more than 40 other bands.

Chicago Open Air also served as the platform for several band announcements, including the release of Korn’s latest single, “Rotting In Vain” and Meshuggah’s North American tour announcement during a press conference on Friday.
